Understanding product labels becomes child's play thanks to BATRA which allows
to scan food barcodes and access product information
food.
SCAN, FIND AND CHOOSE IN CONSCIOUSNESS
Batra is a free Web, Android and IOS application that allows you to scan
food bars and access the correct, tooled information and formatting for the
mobile, tablets and desktop PCs. It is useful for everyone, including people in
reading difficulty, allergic people and people with diets
individuals.
BATRA IS ALSO A HEALTH ISSUE
In order to answer everyone, the app is designed to meet people
with food intolerance problems, to foreign people who do not
not understand the language of the labels as well as the physically impaired people.
BATRA IS THE CHOICE OF TRANSPARENCY
The app contains more than 700,000 references present in store shelves where
we will do our shopping.
As we rely on the quality and reliability of the data, the BATRA algorithm displays
priority is the data that is introduced and validated by the producer in the database of
GS1 TrustBox data that we rent annually.
When BATRA can not find information about these databases validated by the
producer, it displays those of Open Food Fact, which is an open database and
Collaborative. If it is still not there, we suggest to consumers to encode the
product at OpenFoodFact.
THE USEFUL TOOLS FOR YOU
The big peculiarities are the alerts in case of allergy and diet (in
configured profile function), translation into all languages of the world (thanks to Google
translation), the display of the Nutriscore and the translation of the files into an auditable audio file
by people who have vision problems (thanks to TextToSpeech azure).
A REAL STRUCTURE AT THE SERVICE OF FOOD TRANSPARENCY
Our motivation, within the non-profit organization AKTINA, which is an educational platform
permanent, is to allow every citizen to have access to the information of the products
food. The spark that brought out this is the European regulation 1169/2011
INCO. Since then, we have been trying to allow producers to be in compliance and
transparency, both for consumers to have access to this crucial information to their
welfare.
